D is for Diva

So we all know in life that when customers, patients, resident, etc. are mean we just have to take it most of the time. However has anyone else noticed when a boss or superior is mean we also are just expected to take it or leave?

If you work in healthcare you really get me, Doctors can be MEAN! They can’t be pleased most days but then play the innocent like they never even ask for help and do everything on their own. Every now and again you get a nice one, one that gets it, one that knows being on the other side is hard, my friend would call that a unicorn.

Well I thought I had a unicorn, I mean he has his moments where his ego gets a little big but for the most part so friendly and easy to work with. Here lately that has not been the case he is really needing some time off because he is getting cranky about everything! Today he was mad at me for not jumping in between an argument with him and a patient. I asked why that would be my place and he said because his job isn’t to listen to patients vent. That surprised me.

He isn’t wrong that I handle all the business side of things but why if he is talking treatment and they are deep in a back and forth would I jump between them? Doctors be high maintenance! Next time I’m gonna come running in with a white flag!
